A letter I had to send to a music company in the states called Orchard Music
Dear Sir/Madam,
Unfortunately, your company has through Youtube directly affected my Youtube Earnings by placing a claim on my content which has nothing to do with your company. Please rectify this by checking the video here in question and taking the steps to remove your claim to my content. I legally disputed your claim on Youtube to my video yesterday.
Got into bed baout 5 am knowing that if the phone rang at 9am I was going to have to man up, pack my board and get into some icy water for some filming. The phone as it happened didn't ring so when I rolled out of bed for a trip to the bathroom I decided to call just to see if there were any waves. Sure enough I got an excited Eoin McCarthy Deering on the other end of the phone who was loving what he was seeing.
He lives out near one of the few well known East Coast Surfing spots in Ireland, Killiney. We live on the same side of the city but about 40minutes away in a less sexy part of town. Anyway I called the lads from my bed and asked would they be able to come and help make the video... Needless to say the amazing John Jordan and Paul Dwyer didn't flinch. I through my board on the roof of my car the camera in the back with my laptop and drove like a bat out of hell to the lads houses. Paul exited his house at his usual leisurely pace, but like the legend he was there when we needed him. We drove to pick up John in Walkinstown and the three of us stopped off for a coffee in the local Garage. Eoin informed us that the tide had to go out a little first so there was no rush.
When we got there, we donned our wetsuits did a few camera angles and interviews and hit the water. We were rocking a Cannon 60D and the new GoPro HD2. Two great cameras and the cheapest of their kind that deliver in my opinion. Hopefully you think the video footage is amazing!!! The lads like good childhood friends made a mockery of me as I chased after the well known and accomplished Irish Surfer with a camera on a stick. Funny stuff. You can see me in the water in some of the shots in the video if you look hard enough! :)
Anyway the rest is on video... Apart from the fact that I nearly got hit by the dart trying to get that Train shot. I edited it out for legal reasons but I guess in a while I might throw it up when the driver has forgotten.
1. If i arrive at the door in 2 months can i just buy monthly membership there for 60dollars? and spend time there till i get tired?
2. I'm irish so with a passport could i join.
3. Im guessing that there is apart from classes lots of interested people buzzing around who help eachother out?
4 Are there any Restrictions regarding use of equipment.
5 The place looks awesome. I'm coming from Dublin Ireland just because of how awesome it appears. Great Job
