Life in the army flashback
It is freezing cold. It is raining hard. There is only enough light seeping through the leaking clouds to see the tip of the north arrow glowing on my compass. I’ve been carrying a backpack that is as heavy and as awkward as an old lady for 9 hours with no more than a total of 20 minutes rest. The strap from my weapon is cutting into my shoulder
But I am content. I am happy and I will persevere. I know neither the distance left to travel nor the distance I have walked. I know only that I am alive and that I am glowing…. I never liked late night TV anyway. When was the last time you glowed?
